Summerfield — Mini-Farm & Pasture Country

Between Ocala's horse farms and The Villages' back gate, Summerfield is where people finally buy their five acres — and discover that three of them are palmetto. That's where we come in.

The five-acre dream, cleared honestly

Summerfield's unincorporated mini-farm parcels — along the 475A corridor, off Sunset Harbor Road, and around the Stonecrest edges — sell to two kinds of buyers: retirees escaping The Villages' lot sizes, and horse people priced out of the NW Ocala farm belt. Both inherit the same land: former pasture gone to sweetgum and palmetto, fence lines swallowed by oak seedlings, and a building envelope that needs real clearing and grubbing before the barn or the garage goes up. Our most common Summerfield job is the combination: grub the pad, mulch the back acreage to walkable, and clear the fence line to the survey stakes — quoted as one written number.

Pasture reclaim: cheaper than it looks, if you use the right tool

Pasture that's been idle even five years in this climate comes back as a wall — but it's mostly soft wall: palmetto, blackberry, wax myrtle, and sapling sweetgums that a forestry mulcher erases at $1,500–$3,000 an acre. The expensive mistake is hiring dozer-and-burn clearing for what mulching handles: you pay more, lose your topsoil structure, and spend spring watching the burn-ban calendar. The honest caveat runs the other way too — reclaimed pasture needs a maintenance mulch pass every year or two, or the palmetto reminds you whose county this is.

Fence lines are survey lines

Half of Summerfield's property disputes start with a fence built "about where the line is." When we clear fence line, we clear to your survey stakes or pins — and if you can't find them, we'll tell you to get the survey refreshed before we cut, not after. It's a smaller invoice for us and a much smaller headache for you. Add the stump grinding along the run and the fence contractor gets a clean, straight pull the day they arrive.
